| The association that links Radicofani with the Mille Miglia goes back almost to the race’s origins; the Mille Miglia was seen as the town’s most important event of the year and the whole population participated in it with infinite enthusiasm. Quite a few people knew the drivers of the day, among them the legendary Tazio Nuvolari , who defined Radicofani the ‘kingdom of fog’ and more than once he halted to refuel in our petrol station, as did Gino Munaron, Piero Taruffi, Juan Manuel Fangio, Achille Varzi and others. When they stopped, they happily drank a little of our wine or ate some fresh bread. |
